I’m Dwayne Toemere: actor, organizational psychologist, educator and life artist. In my work and life, I celebrate the poetry of movement, the ritual of daily practice and the richness of diverse ways of knowing.
Whether I’m performing, coaching, researching or creating, I draw from a blend of somatic awareness, gratitude and presence. I lead with the quiet power of discipline: from cold showers and cacao rituals to disciplined training and mindful training sessions. I’m equally at home in a yoga studio, on a jogging path, or in a corporate boardroom, helping others become the strongest, most grounded version of themselves.
My background in occupational psychology enhances my ability to design and deliver assessments, foster effective team development, guide leadership dynamics, and promote employee well-being within organizations. That blends seamlessly with my theatre background, where presence, subtlety, absurdity and lived truth all speak through movement. In both realms, the key is witnessing, reflection and heart-led expression.
At the same time, I’m rooted in Surinamese-Indigenous heritage through cultural practice, making traditional garments and ritual. I believe true vitality grows when we walk in both worlds: modern and ancestral. That duality enriches my work in diversity, inclusion, climate, regeneration, grief and loss, themes I explore as part of the ATD Lectorate at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.
What brings me here? The desire to practice what I teach: to meet body, culture, emotion and spirit in everyday life. And help others do the same. I offer myself as a guide to those seeking to integrate strength with stillness, discipline with tenderness, action with reflection.
On this page you’ll find highlights from my work: performances, sessions, collaborations. Feel free to explore, connect and envision how together we might create something meaningful. For individuals, groups, or organizations.
